PART 5: PAST DAYS 25 CENT SHOE SHINE

PART 5: PAST DAYS 25 CENT SHOE SHINE

A select group satisfied their inflated egos and pocketbooks and played a game with those Po.

Although outside of academia I still saw the affront to independent thinking in the workplace and any other place. Principles, morals and values were laid to rest on Murderers Row.

No one was for real as the key to success was lying, cheating and being one with loose morals.

With a majority joining the ranks of Uncle and Thomas I stared in disbelief and thought of ways to explain what often was the soul of abnormal behavior.

No doubt I was called to critique this mess as no one made any sense.

Meanwhile I didn't know that the Spiritual analysis would one day allow me to see clearly. But for now I was virtually blind to this conspiratorial behavior. I worked through it.

Thanks be to God and Christ for without the Spiritual journey I was also and still would be blind.

It was Lovely Atlanta then 1980. Now some call this southern Black Paradise ATL. Anyway what was once Atlanta University is where I stopped to look at the Political and Historical behavior of society especially the people that had been in a situation since 1619.

To see clearly I sought to study on and gain more credentials.

The parade of intellectual imposters came forth. They often and their various pompous colleagues masqueraded as revolutionaries leaning on armchairs. There was also lurking the ever present will to be scholastic super men and women if they were to be found.

Again the Black and poor felt the wrath of their shame.

In this maze of academic delusions came students for a Master's and the Doctorate of letters, which caused even more resistance. Here Political Science was said to cover all disciplines and was the grandest intellectual field for nothing could exist without first testing its waters.

I saw through mis-education, as they were highly skilled on this level to lower you to another level.

As the soon to be scholars gathered many gave up on the rigorous fight and fell by the trash can. Many final exams were fatal. Some from Africa who wanted to go home were able to purchase tickets to go home with a gift-wrapped dissertations.

This mis-education was further damaged as it also came with a price paid in dollars.

Meanwhile many that earned letters at the library, because they were not female and loose, the men that failed to be loose were also left. Those that had no money are refused to pay for a free ride and the independents were left behind and outdoors.

No principles ruled this educational experience although they said it did.

Is there a more real place where academic freedom is denied than among pine trees as there was only hidden ivy at A.U.

Is there any rival for infamy in education than this place?

The grievance route was measured out to students who they said missed a point or grade. However as the administration joined forces with the false prophets of the classroom I was marched out of the library and the lecture hall stood and waited.

The court was fixed; there were shades of 1901, and "The Vale of Tears." Billie Holiday the fruit has fallen.

Economic lynching is a sure way to know you are Po. Poor was hard times, Po was when somebody stole your last stick of firewood and sold you hot ice in the summer time.

The lynch ropes held the door closed to a rightful earned degree as it also tightened the knot on jobs in the Social Sciences.

But, the streets always held some relief. Along the way a significant exploration took place with a brief visit to the schools public standing as a teacher.

Georgia conspired with former mis-educators as I was also chased from the public place because I would not lay down.

In 1985-1986 was there an effort to only look for discipline? Had education went on vacation are in a situation? Was learning gone south like a crapshooter stealing. Idealism had invaded and took hold of me as no other time I remember.

No one wanted to embrace the challenge of real education as the crutch had been set in previous grades.

I tried to render some values, principles among my young brethren but there was no support among my people and the people that often spread situations could only see days of "Mint Julep" sweet lemonade and the shade tree.
