Generic REVIA / Depade, NALTREXONE Tablet for Treatment of Alcoholism Part 1


Drug Description

Generic Revia Naltrexone is a synthetic congener of oxymorphone with no opioid agonist properties. This drug is used to improve the condition or treat alcoholism. This drug is marketed by the brand name Generic Revia and Depade. Naltrexone is the active ingredient in these drugs. This drug is indicated for the treatment of opiate addiction. It should not be given to people currently using narcotics.

Dosage and Instruction

Use Naltrexone as instructed by your doctor. Go through the label on the drug for exact dosing instructions. Generic Generic Revia is taken with or without food. This drug should not be used until the naltrexone challenge test is negative. Before taking this medication, the patient must be free of substance abuse for 7 to 10 days.

Miss dose

If you miss a dose of Naltrexone and you are taking 1 dose daily, do not double the dose the next day to make up the missed dose. Continue your scheduled dose and check with your doctor.

Overdose:

If overdose is assumed, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
